Buildings have of course always leaked, and there have always been bad builders.  Construction is often a high risk activity for both builders and their clients.

The firm has extensive experience in this area of law, and understands building issues. The resolution of building disputes is an important part of our practice. We are regularly engaged in mediations, arbitrations and litigation and can advise and support you in such processes.

We have acted for both builders and clients over many years in a range of disputes, and we have extensive knowledge and experience of the Weathertight Homes Resolution Service regime.

The firm acts for and advises Hutt City Council, a Territorial Authority under the Building Act. While we obviously may not act in matters adverse to the interests of Hutt City Council, we can and do represent clients with claims against other local authorities outside our immediate area, and we are currently involved in actions in Auckland and Christchurch.
